(Ages 5+ / For Beings of Significant Mass) Components: 1. The Substrate Board (Must remain damp. Do not allow direct sunlight.) 2. Six Player Markers (Each marker represents a fundamental concept: Entropy, Doubt, Hunger, etc.) 3. One Six-Sided Die (Standard, but its numbers occasionally flicker with non-Euclidean geometry.) 4. The Rulebook (This document. Keep it dry.) Objective: Be the first entity to successfully collect three matching 'Resonance Tokens' and move your marker to the central 'Source Node.' Setup: Place the Substrate Board flat on the floor. Ensure the dampness level is between 7 and 9 on the basement scale. Each player selects a Marker and places it on the designated starting tile, 'The Outer Membrane.' Shuffle the Resonance Tokens and place them face down on the designated slots. Gameplay (The Turn): 1. Roll: Roll the die. The number rolled indicates the number of spaces you must attempt to traverse. 2. Move: Move your Marker along the connecting paths. You must follow the path of least resistance; if the path feels sticky, you must spend one turn attempting to scrape free. 3. Action: The space you land on dictates your action. Junction: Stop immediately. You must declare a single, unfulfilled desire. The other players vote on its feasibility. If two or more players deem it impossible, you lose your next turn. Resonance Slot: Draw one Resonance Token. If it matches a token you already hold, you may immediately discard both for a bonus movement of 2 spaces. * The Substrate: When you land here, the Board will emit a low, wet sound. You must wait until the sound fades completely before taking your next turn. Winning: To win, you must collect three tokens of the same type (e.g., three 'Unmaking' tokens) and successfully land on the Source Node. If the Substrate Board begins to actively breathe, the game is paused, and all players must wait for the dampness level to stabilize.
